  • Case 1:

    India has been ranked as the most unsafe country for women after the 2018 polls.The crimes against women are ever increasing, this makes women feel unsafe going out for late night shifts, which in turn affects the economy of the family as well as the country! There aren't enough police personals to monitor every single women passenger. If a tracking system/device is installed, women would feel safer than ever. 

    Case 2:

    Child Trafficking has been a daily news ever since newspapers came out. In today's scenario where both the parents work, parents are in a constant dilemma in knowing the whereabouts of their children. A simple tracking device would help them feel more comfortable.

    There are many such tracking devices available, but the problem lies with the availability of Internet/Bluetooth to transmit the data. Moreover charging these devices have always been hectic in our daily routine. So the availability of Internet/Bluetooth adds on as a problem in this domain!

  • Use Case 1:

    Working class women residing in a rural, or even an urban environment, where the availability of internet isn't ensured.

    Use Case 2:

    Working class parents who would like to know the whereabouts of their children using a simple mobile application.

  •       The transmitter (watch) consists of Arduino ProMini, SX1276 LoRa transceiver module, NEO
    6M GPS module and an SOS button. The receiver placed in the woman or child’s house consists of Arduino Uno, SX1276 LoRa transceiver module, NodeMCU ESP8266 and a buzzer. The latitude and
    longitude from NEO 6M is transmitted through the LoRa module and is received by
    the LoRa module placed in the receiver’s side. This data is then uploaded onto firebase (cloud) with
    the help of NodeMCU. In the final stage, this data is retrieved from the cloud through an app
    created through MIT app inventor. This app takes the latitude and longitude and pinpoints the
    wearer’s position on the map. This lets the parents or citizens concerned view their loved one’s location in a hassle free manner.
    The watch also has an SOS button (push button) connected to the Arduino. The status of the push
    button is also transmitted similar to that of the GPS coordinates. When the button is pressed, a
    buzzer on the receiver module sounds, which can be manually reset. One advantage of this watch
    is that, power consumption is very low as we are using Lora module. If it had been sim/Bluetooth,
    the watch had to have been frequently charged. As an added feature that none of the tracking devices contain, our watch has Geo-fencing facility, to give an alert if the wearer goes out of the specified boundary.

    The main advantage of our watch is, it does not depend on WiFi/Internet connectivity to transmit data. As India is still a developing country, WiFi/Internet connectivity is not available in every nook and corner. Thus, our product plays a major role in such instances.
